Accelerate Your Common Data Environment

14:00 – 15:00 (BST)

The challenge:

Common challenges faced by organisations that manage physical assets and facilities are that they often have disparate asset and facilities information systems and teams, with no common view of our assets or facilities.

Does this sound familiar to you? If so, you are not alone.

It is typical to find that information systems have inconsistent data with little or no ‘metadata’ to describe, where the data is from, who created it, what is should/shouldn’t be used for and why the data was initially captured.

In short, there is no single source of data. No one truth. This introduces risk and creates inefficiencies.

The Solution:

The key is integration:

  • People and Process: Integration across teams; integration between business processes & standards – these must be established to ensure long term success.
  • Technology and Data: It is vital these are underpinned by robust technologies that allow the management and validation of new data as well as integration of existing information systems.

Integration creates a single, shared and common view of assets. Providing a truly asset-centric view for project activities and on-going operations and maintenance is vital.

In this webinar we will cover

1.Overview to BIM – opportunities and challenges by GeoEnable Ltd

  • What are the UK ‘BIM standards,’ BIM Level 2 and will is affect me?
  • What is meant by a Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Understand the benefits of BIM for enabling the whole-life of assets.
  • Overview to ‘Open BIM’ standards, e.g. IFC and BIM Collaboration Format (BCF)
  • Introduction to what 4D, 5D, 6D & 7D can mean
  • Understand that enabling technologies are only part of the solution

2.How the BIMaaS platform can accelerate your CDE by Mitra Innovation

  • How BIMaaS can integrate/connect to existing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
  • Clash detection (collision detection)
